National Experience, Local Roots

Before launching his own firm, John spent over a decade as a managing partner at Drubner Commercial Real Estate, one of the region’s established commercial brokerages. During that time, he led tenant representation engagements for national and regional brands. Securing locations for Advance Auto Parts, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Gulf Oil, 7-Eleven, Burger King, and West Marine across the state.

He has also worked with developers seeking to expand their Connecticut portfolios, providing site selection, market analysis, and deal negotiation from initial concept through closing.

John reopened Commercial Connection in 2020 with a clear vision: deliver the strategic capability of a large firm through the responsiveness of a principal-led practice.

His clients benefit from direct access to the decision-maker on every deal, with no layers between the client and the broker driving results.

Built Different

A graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Urban Studies, John brings an academic foundation in land use, spatial analysis, and community development that few brokers in the market can match. His understanding of how towns grow, where commercial demand concentrates, and which corridors are positioned for investment is rooted in both formal training and decades of field experience.

Before entering real estate, John owned and operated a successful catering business for 18 years, giving him firsthand experience as a business owner navigating leases, buildouts, permitting, and the real-world decisions his commercial clients face every day. He doesn’t just understand transactions, he understands what it means to run a business inside the space.

He has also worked with developers seeking to expand their Connecticut portfolios, providing site selection, market analysis, and deal negotiation from initial concept through closing.

COMMUNITY

A lifelong Connecticut resident, John is a native of Wolcott and a long-time resident of Middlebury. He is deeply invested in the communities where he works serving actively with the organizations that shape the Greater Waterbury region’s future.
